The UNLV School of Music presents dozens of free classical music recitals and concerts every term. Most are by students, performing solo or in small groups. There are also performances by music faculty, guest artists, and visiting ensembles. Some things, such as their symphony orchestra and wind band concerts, have a small charge. Fan-favorite and award-winning guitarist Ricardo Cobo returns with special guests October 20 at UNLV to perform Tangos y Sones Cubanos. Sones cubanos originated in Cuba in the 1920s, and tangos are the music from the popular dance. Starts at 7:30.
The Henderson Symphony Orchestra will perform Symphonie Fantastique by Hector Berlioz October 20 at 8 p.m. at the Henderson Pavilion and the 21st at 8 p.m. at Lake Las Vegas. Alexandra Arrieche is their conductor. Admission is free with donations welcome.

Signature Productions presents the musical “Oliver!” October 24 through November 18 in the theater at the Summerlin Library. It is based on the Charles Dickens novel “Oliver Twist,” set in Victorian England.

She’s a multifaceted singer, songwriter, and burlesque performer.
