The Southern Nevada Rock Art Association meets on the fourth Monday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the REI store in Boca Park. Admission is free and anyone interested in rock art is invited to attend. There's usually a program on rock art and/or archeology, most often local or regional.
This year’s juried art exhibit includes artists who were chosen based on the texture present in each of their works and the visual similarity in the subjects each artist presents. Free. Charleston Heights Arts Center, 800 S. Brush St., artslasvegas.org
You can unleash your creativity and “paint on air” in 3-D space using the new virtual reality equipment at the Springs Preserve. The world beyond two dimensions will become your canvas as you explore a palette of 3-D brushes, floating stars, neon lights, fire and more.
"Global Villagers: Street Portraits from Around the World”, a collection of candid portraits by Las Vegas photographer Lamar Marchese, will be shown February 21 through April 29. The photos were made during a round-the-world cruise, during which the photographer gained an appreciation for what unites mankind rather than divides us. There will be a reception February 22 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
