Southern Nevada’s first dedicated volleyball facility, Vegas Aces Training Centre, will officially open this fall. The first-of-its-kind facility in the region will attract girls from across the valley to play volleyball at its highest level, training them to be competitive in the national arena. They will hold tryouts for their teams October 14 through November 15 (by age, starting at 10).
Pay tribute to the millions of women and children — particularly girls — who spend hours a day collecting water, by taking a 2.7-mile walk in their shoes from The Smith Center to the Springs Preserve. 7A, $15–$25. The walk begins at the Smith Center, springspreserve.org
