The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas is in desperate need of sheets, blankets, towels and such to use for bedding for their cats and dogs. Gently used or new items can be dropped at the shelter every day between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. They would also like to connect with housekeeping departments for regular pickups of donated items.
The Butterfly Habitat at the Springs Preserve will be open September 23 thru November 19, weather permitting. The habitat contains many species of butterflies and the plants that sustain them. You'll emerge with a better understanding of the environment needed for the survival of these spectacular insects.
This action-packed show with incredible dogs and their handlers performing amazing stunts will thrill audiences of all ages. Most of the performing pet stars have been adopted from animal shelters across the U.S. Saturdays and Sundays in October at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.; Special shows on Nevada Day, October 27.
Clark County Wetlands Park has a few more morning walks coming up. On October 21, check out the weirs in place along the wash and learn how they work. On the 28th, exlpore some of the park's habitats providing resting sites for migratory birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
A Pet Memorial and Celebration of Life, honoring the pets we have loved and lost and those who have lost their lives in shelters, will be held at Sunset Park on November 5, from 3:30 to 6. Join others in paying tribute to the bond we share with our furry, feathery or scaly companions. Register by October 30.
The Vegas Valley Dog Obedience Club will have registration for puppy and adult classes on January 11 at 7 p.m. Classes start the following week. Proof of shots required to register your dog. Do not take dog to registration.
