Hosted by the United Way of Southern Nevada’s Women’s Leadership Council, the annual one-day suit drive November 3 collects suits and other business attire for women in need. They're looking for suits, dresses, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Donations will benefit United Way partner agencies with back to work programs for women.
Leisure Connection (for adults 22+) is a social group for high-functioning adults with developmental disabilities. It provides recreational activities that promote socialization and independence in the community. The Rape Crisis Center in Las Vegas uses male and female volunteers, ages 21 and over, to assist sexual assault victims. Volunteers assist the staff of the center by answering crisis calls around the clock, making referrals for victims and others who are seeking assistance, and more.
Nevada's Aging and Disability Services Division is looking for volunteers to serve as Long Term Care Ombudsman in skilled nursing facilities.
Volunteers act as advocates and a voice for residents in skilled nursing facilities, either those who cannot speak for themselves or who request assistance and advocacy. Volunteers promote resident's rights, empower residents and help resolve complaints.
The non-profit Narcotics Anonymous is a twelve-step program offering help for people trying to end a drug addiction, modeled on Alcoholics Anonymous. There are several meetings every day in Southern Nevada, most of them in Las Vegas.
Keep Memory Alive at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health in Las Vegas hosts "Lunch & Learn" talks most Wednesdays from noon to 1:00. Most often they cover topics of interest to those serving as caregivers to people with dementia.
The Breast Center at Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas holds several classes and meetings every month. Included are a breast cancer support group, the young survivor's breast cancer support group, pilates classes for women with breast cancer, yoga classes (including pre-natal), and more.

An Alzheimer's caregiver support group meets on the third Tuesday of the month, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the H2U MountainView Office in Las Vegas. It allows family, friends, caregivers and others to meet regularly for mutual emotional support and to discuss coping skills.
