The Young Explorer Program introduces young adventurers and their grownups to a variety of plants and animals that call the Wetlands Park their home through various activities, live animal demonstrations, crafts, and outdoor exploration. The Southern Nevada Rock Art Association meets on the fourth Monday of every month, starting at 6:30 p.m., in the REI store in Boca Park. Admission is free and anyone interested in rock art is invited to attend. There's usually a program on rock art and/or archeology, most often local or regional.

The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas is in desperate need of sheets, blankets, towels and such to use for bedding for their cats and dogs. Gently used or new items can be dropped at the shelter every day between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. They would also like to connect with housekeeping departments for regular pickups of donated items.
