You are invited to celebrate the contributions of African-Americans to our community February 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Springs Preserve. There will be music and dance performances, soul food from local restaurants, cultural art and gift items, a historic black Las Vegas photo exhibit, and activities for the kids. Also, a blood drive.
Chinatown Plaza will host its annual Chinese New Year celebration on February 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., to mark the Year of the Dog. There will be traditional foods, vendors, a 150-foot long dragon on parade, a Chinese lion dance, kung-fu and martial art demonstrations, music and dance.
Entertainment will be between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for ages 6-12. Those 5 and under are free.
