The Wetlands Park in Las Vegas has guided walks, talks, and programs every month. Some require advance registration. On Feb. 15 at 6 p.m. there's a talk on aquatic insect biodiversity in wetlands and urban communities, including how mosquitos are controlled. Feb. 17 from 10 to noon: A walking introduction to the park. Feb. 19 from 10 to 2: Junior Explorer Day
The Animal Foundation in Las Vegas is in desperate need of sheets, blankets, towels and such to use for bedding for their cats and dogs. Gently used or new items can be dropped at the shelter every day between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. They would also like to connect with housekeeping departments for regular pickups of donated items.
