Chinatown Plaza will host its annual Chinese New Year celebration on February 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., to mark the Year of the Dog. There will be traditional foods, vendors, a 150-foot long dragon on parade, a Chinese lion dance, kung-fu and martial art demonstrations, music and dance.
Entertainment will be between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for ages 6-12. Those 5 and under are free.
Boys Town Nevada will hold their “Saddle-Up & Help Our Kids” benefit event February 28, starting at 5:30 p.m., at Stoney’s Rockin’ Country. There’ll be some great music, beer/whiskey/wine tastings and line-dancing lessons. And, you can test your rockin’ rodeo skills on the mechanical bull!
The Tacos and Tamales festival at Sunset Park on March 31 will include the Tequila Tasting Experience, where you will enjoy tantalizing your palate with an array of Tequila brands sampling cocktails, pairings and more. Part of the proceeds will benefit local charity Create a Change Now.
The 44th annual UNLVino will be held April 14, from 7 to 10 p.m., in the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. There will be a wide range of wines to sample and food from top chefs. Money raised goes toward scholarships for UNLV students.
The Country Fresh Farmers Market is held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. every Thursday at the Henderson Events Plaza in downtown Henderson and every Friday from 10 to 4 at the Henderson Pavilion, 200 S. Green Valley Parkway. Available are fresh fruits and vegetables, salsa, honey, arts and crafts, and more---much more.
