NV89 is Nevada Public Radio’s music discovery channel broadcast on 89.1FM in Reno and soon 105.1 Carson City. We are champions of emerging artists and local musicians who will be the stars of tomorrow, as well as established artists with a history of creating compelling music from recent years. NV89 exclusively features NPR’s World Café and VuHaus to keep connected with national musical tastemakers.
NV89 is part of the Nevada Public Radio network which includes News 88.9 KNPR Las Vegas, Classical 89.7 Las Vegas and we are the publisher of the city regional magazine Desert Companion. NV89 also features KNPR’s State of Nevada each weekday at 9 a.m., a live news hour dedicated to the issues that matter most to Nevadans from ballot initiatives to Burning Man.
NV89 is also heard on KNPR HD3 on our network of repeater stations in Nevada, Utah, Arizona and California.
HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR MUSIC TO LOCAL 891
Looking to get heard on NV89? Submit your music to LOCAL 891 for airplay consideration. Here’s how:
Digital submissions are preferred, but we also accept physical CDs. Send us a link to your recordings (WAV or MP3 preferred). We will review and download the songs we like. Please do not send actual music file attachments via email and only send “clean” radio edits with no objectionable lyrics. NV89 will only accept music that is commercially available digitally and/or for sale in stores. Submitted CDs should be final copies of full albums or EPs with artwork, no demos. It’s also helpful to include a one-sheet with contact information, a short bio, a song list highlighting your strongest tracks and any songs that have lyrics the FCC would find unacceptable.
Listen to NV89 throughout the day and have a look at our playlist to get an idea of the diverse artists our hosts play. It’s important to make sure your music will fit with our station before submitting. Thanks for sharing your music with us.
