How would you describe yourself to voters?

I'm a firefighter, ecologist and family man. I'm Independent, like Nevada! I'm a non-partisan leader focused on common sense and positive progress. I was a whistleblower against federal government corruption in Nevada in 2019-20. I ask please for your vote Oct 22-Nov 8. What do you see as the top issues in this campaign?

A stronger economy and better jobs. Our water future. Protecting women's right-to-choose. Overcoming partisanship in the interest of the common good.

In your opinion, how would you rate the state’s response to the pandemic? Why?

As a firefighter, I work in emergency response and management. I served with the Clark County Fire Department and Southern Nevada Health District on the pandemic Incident Management Team in 2021. The deadly pandemic is unprecedented. The response is a heavy-lift for the state, requiring massive deployment and management of people and resources. The state has walked a fine line between science and economic concerns. Total people vaccinated in Clark County fell short of science-based goals, but not for lack of effort from the state. As of May 2022, I give the state a B- grade.

Education and local government officials have long asked lawmakers to change the way the state assesses property taxes. That includes raising the current tax threshold. Should lawmakers consider raising those thresholds? If not, what is the best way for governments to raise money for local programs?

Yes, and the legislature should empower local elected officials to consider specific changes that fit best locally.
