Sin City Opera prides itself on producing operatic works in unconventional ways. And in their most recent production, this will certainly ring true.
The company will present two one-act operas on the same night, The Telephone and The Human Voice, and both happen to feature the telephone as a center piece. The operasfocus on women at extreme moments of their relationships. One is at the beginning, afraid to say hello. The other is at the end and afraid to say goodbye. The two stories will explore the themes of the telephone as a distraction and ultimately as an extension of our very selves.
