Colorado River Returns To Mexico

Listen
AIR DATE: March 11, 2014

The Colorado River used to flow straight into the Gulf of California. But it has been dammed and divided so many times in the United States that the flow to Northern Mexico dried up years ago. Now conservationists are hailing a new agreement that will return some water to parched delta areas, restoring wildlife for endangered animals and birds. So what will the water exchange mean for the environment of northern Mexico? And what will Southern Nevada get out of the deal?
