Flushed Away: Saving Water At Home
Flushed Away: Saving Water At Home

Listen
AIR DATE: March 10, 2014

Every day, residents of Southern Nevada flush thousands of gallons of one of our most precious resources right down the toilet. Toilet use consumes almost a third of the water used in American households, according to studies of water use. But water consumers don't always know the best ways to conserve water around the house. And some conservation strategies may break the law in Southern Nevada. So what is the best way to save water? Are why are some water reuse methods off-limits to those who want to conserve?

GUESTS

Doug Bennett, Conservation Manager, Southern Nevada Water Authority

Enrique Garcia, Great Basin Permaculture

Shahzeen Attari, Professor, School of Public and Environmental Affairs, Indiana University
