Child Care In Nevada
Child Care In Nevada

Listen
AIR DATE: December 17, 2013

The cost of childcare can be overwhelming, especially for single parents. In Nevada, a family can spend as much as five to ten thousand dollars a year on day care costs, an amount that rivals the annual cost of college tuition.

Beyond the high cost of child care -- what about the idea of leaving your child alone with strangers? What about worst-case scenario stories of children who get in accidents, or are harmed, at the hands of inexperienced and unqualified child care providers?

GUESTS

Jonathan Cohn, Senior Editor at the New Republic

Kelli Y. Clingman Licensed Child Care Provider, Step by Step Family Childcare

Erik Huey, parent

Lillie Englund, board member, Nevada Association for the Education of Young Children
