'The Hill' Comes To Yucca Mountain

Members of Congress are heading to Nevada this weekend to scope out one of the state's landmarks: Yucca Mountain.

Because of a bill in Congress that seeks to restart the licensing process for Yucca Mountain, it's back on the table to become the nation's nuclear waste repository. Illinois Republican Rep. John Shimkus is leading the congressional visit again, similar to a visit he made in 2015.

But, Nevada's congressmembers are not going to let it happen without a fight.

The Nevada Independent's Humberto Sanchez is in Washington and covered what Illinois Rep. John Shimkus hopes to accomplish with the visit.
