Trolleys, Light Rail Or Rapid Buses: Which Will It Be In Las Vegas?

Flickr

Mass transportation is a growing concern and issue in Southern Nevada.

But what’s it going to be: Trolleys, buses or light rail?

In a report from the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, a proposed Maryland Parkway transit system would connect the airport to downtown Las Vegas.

The conclusions cover the type and proposed route of the system, as well as construction and operating costs.

The RTC says its recommendations which will be discussed with “individuals” this month and at “public meetings “starting in January.

The big question is how any system will be paid for. Light rail is the most expensive, followed by trolleys or street cars, then rapid transit bus.
