New report card by the March of Dimes gives Las Vegas a failing grade.

Today is World Prematurity Day, and many in the health sector are seeking to educate communities about the high cost of pre-term births.

A new report has given Nevada a “C” grade for its pre-term birth rate. And, according to the report, Las Vegas got an even lower grade – a “D.”

The March of Dimes’ Premature Birth Report Card grades use last year’s pre-term birth rates and compare that nationwide.

With us to talk about what this means for the state is Michelle Gorelow, the director of program services, advocacy and government affairs for the Nevada March of Dimes.
