Clark County GOP Accuses PAC Of Misconduct In Recall Effort

The Clark County Republican Party is filing a complaint accusing a conservative PAC of illegally using contributions to support recall efforts against Nevada Republicans.

The party filed an election integrity complaint with state officials on Wednesday accusing conservative activist Tony Dane of accepting more than $245,000 in illegal contributions from donors for his CRC Political Action Committee without revealing the source of the donations.

Attempts to reach Dane Wednesday morning were unsuccessful.

The complaint says Dane's PAC sent mailers attacking Assembly Speaker-designate John Hambrick earlier in January. The party alleges that Dane's PAC is helping a number of other newly formed groups designed to lead recall efforts against Nevada Republicans who haven't taken a strong anti-tax stance.

Recall PACs have formed against Assembly member Chris Edwards, Stephen Silberkraus and Hambrick.
