City of Las Vegas to Send off 'Keno' to the Puppy Bowl

The city of Las Vegas is sending off its newest ambassador to represent our community at the 2015 Puppy Bowl to air at 3 p.m. on Feb. 1 on Animal Planet. Keno, a Nevada SPCA foster puppy selected to be a part of Puppy Bowl XI, will meet Mayor Carolyn G. Goodman and be part of a ceremonial fire hydrant dedication at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 28, at City Hall, 495 S. Main St.

The event will take place at the hydrant on the northwest corner of the intersection of Clark Avenue and First Street. Mayor Goodman will be joined by representatives of the Nevada SPCA at the dedication.

Keno and his brother were recently dropped off in the lobby of the Nevada SPCA on a Saturday afternoon in a dirty cardboard box. Both were placed in foster care, where they are flourishing.

The Nevada SPCA was one of the shelters chosen to receive an invitation from Animal Planet to send in submissions for Puppy Bowl XI.  After sending in many emails, pictures and videos, little Keno was chosen to play in the big game for puppies.

Keno is one of 55 puppies competing for the title of MVP - Most Valuable Puppy.

You can find out more and vote for your favorite puppy during the game at the Animal Planet Puppy Bowl website.
