Wet Weather Prompts Delays At Las Vegas Airport

A wet Pacific storm that drenched California moved into southern Nevada, bringing steady rain and causing flight delays at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas.

Airport spokeswoman Christine Crews said arrivals were interrupted shortly after noon Friday due to low cloud cover.

The Federal Aviation Administration said some incoming flights were delayed nearly two hours.

Crews says she didn't know how many people were affected because the airlines don't immediately report the number of passengers aboard each flight.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory for the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range outside Las Vegas and for higher elevations in Lincoln County. Forecasts called for four to seven inches of snow in mountain elevations above 7,000 feet.
