NV Health Insurance Exchange Open Enrollment Starts 11/15/14

State officials hope the second open enrollment period for Nevada's health insurance exchange will go better than the first.

Nevada residents can sign up for insurance through the revamped Nevada Health Link website starting Saturday. The nearly 37,000 people who bought plans on the site through the spring will also have to complete the process again by Dec. 15 to avoid losing government subsidies Jan. 1.

Nevada Health Link was plagued with problems after starting in October 2013.  Technical glitches were so bad that the state scrapped its $75 million deal with contractor Xerox.

Many website operations are now performed through the federal HealthCare.Gov site, while insurance companies handle billing.  Nevadans who don't have insurance through their employers can enroll on the exchange through Feb. 15.
