LV Man Dies During Apparent Street Race

Police say a 19-year-old Las Vegas man is dead after crashing during an apparent street race with another 19-year-old. They say the incident happened at about 2:30 a.m. Monday on Spanish Ridge Avenue east of Riley Street.  Detectives say a 1998 Pontiac Firebird and a 1988 Honda CRX were both heading east when the Pontiac left the roadway, hit a block wall and then ricocheted into the Honda.  The driver of the Pontiac was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver of the Honda fled on foot and wasn't immediately found. The name of the man who died hasn't yet been released.
