'The Last 5 Years' Debuts in Las Vegas

Jamie Wellerstein, a struggling writer, meets equally struggling actor Cathy Hyatt in New York. As the story goes, they fall in love and build a life together. But, somewhere along the way, the relationship falls apart and they choose to go their separate ways.

It sounds like a typical love story, but “The Last 5 Years,” written by composer and lyricist Jason Robert Brown, is unique in both its use of music and inventive storyline.

Betsy Wolfe starred as Cathy Hyatt, and Adam Kantor was Jamie Wellerstein in last year’s off-Broadway revival of “The Last 5 Years.” Both Wolfe and Kantor will reprise their roles tonight at the Judy Bayley Theatre on the UNLV campus for a four-night, limited engagement presented by the Nevada Conservatory Theatre.

“We are thrilled to bring ‘The Last 5 Years’ to life for a limited run at the Nevada Conservatory Theatre,” said Keith Boman, executive producer. “This production has received rave reviews from critics and fans … so it’s a very special opportunity for the Las Vegas community to experience this production.”
