Election officials in Washoe County are going forward with a recount in a state assembly race after a judge rejected a legal challenge by incumbent Republican Randy Kirner. Results from November 4 had Kirner winning by 11 votes.
County Registrar Luanne Cutler told the Reno Gazette-Journal the recount of the initial seven precincts selected should be completed by the end of Friday. If they find a discrepancy of 1 percent or five votes in any of the sample precincts, a full recount of all the votes will follow.
