Elko Man Misses Dog, Shoots Neighbor's Bathroom

An Elko County man who says he was trying to shoot a dog on his property has been arrested after a bullet went through his neighbor's house.  Undersheriff Clair Morris says 56-year-old Steven Trainor was booked into the county jail Thursday on suspicion of shooting a gun at or into an occupied structure. He says Trainor fired his 9 mm pistol at the wandering dog but missed and hit the house. It went through a bathroom where someone had taken a shower just minutes before.  The dog was long gone by the time deputies arrived.
