Nevada's jobless rate dropped to 7.7 percent in June as the state saw an 11th consecutive month of job gains.
The Nevada Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Friday that the state gained 5,300 jobs in June, led by growth in the construction industry. The unemployment rate is down from 7.9 percent in May.
State economist Bill Anderson says Nevada is on pace to have 100,000 new jobs over the period from 2010 to 2014. He says better underlying conditions in the national labor market should pave the way for more improvement in Nevada's labor market.
