Hard Rock Planned For Lake Tahoe

The managers of the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas are planning to open one at Lake Tahoethis winter after spending $60 million to renovate the former Horizon Casino Resort at Stateline.

Officials with Las Vegas-based Warner Hospitality and the Lake Tahoe-based Park family, owners of the property, said Thursday the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will have more than 500 hotel rooms and a 25,000-square-foot casino. The resort is on the lake's south shore. It opened as Del Webb's Sahara Tahoe in 1965.
