Donors Hope Crowbars Will Prevent Tragedies

Las Vegas police have new tools that could free victims trapped behind security bars on doors and windows during a fire.  Home improvement store Lowe's and other community partners affiliated with the Safe Village Coalition donated 100 crowbars to the Las Vegas Bolden Area Command on Monday.

The hope is that the crowbars will prevent tragedies like the one that happened in Las Vegas in September 2012, when police were unable to remove bars that trapped an 11-year-old boy in a burning home. The boy and his father died.
