Unemployment Claims Dropping In Nevada

Unemployment insurance claims fell 23-percent in May compared to the same month last year. The latest figures come from the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation. The latest report shows roughly 12,500 claims were filed last month, a bit less than the 14,000 average per month this year. During the peak of the recession, claims averaged more than 36,000 per month. The latest numbers make it 18 straight months of drops.
