Sandoval Wants to Spend More On Mental Health Services

Governor Brian Sandoval wants to divert millions of dollars of tobacco settlement money to help Nevada's mental health services. Yesterday Sandoval sent five recommendations to a finance committee asking for $3.5 million to go to mental health services. Two million will go to help children in crisis.

Other challenges the governor wants to improve upon include more beds for mentally ill patients and more money for housing. Critics say this is too small an amount to help services that have been gutted in previous budgets.
