Nevada's veterans have suffered long wait times at both of the state's VA hospitals. The Veterans Affairs Department released an audit Monday showing that thousands of patients waited 30 days or more at the VA Medical Centers in Reno and North Las Vegas. The audit showed more than 2,200 patients waited 90 days or more for appointments in the Las Vegas facility. More than 200 had similar experiences in the Reno facility.
The report looked at more than 700 VA facilities around the country. It came after reports of patients dying while awaiting appointments at the Phoenix VA.
