Nevada Highway Patrol Offers Second Chance To Cell Phone Users

Motorists caught using cell phones while driving will have an opportunity for a clean slate. Starting today and running through July 10th, the Nevada Highway Patrol is offering drivers the chance to clear their records by doing specific online tasks for 28 straight days. It's a program called "It Can Wait for 28."

This in lieu of paying a fine for driving while distracted. Some of the things motorists will do online include sharing specific videos on social media or taking quizzes about distracted driving. The Nevada Department of Public Safety, highway patrol and Clark County Justice Court are working together on the project.
