Las Vegas Metro On High Alert

There will be extra Metro patrols on the streets in southern Nevada as tension remains high after a mass shooting this weekend that ended with the death of two officers. There will also be increased security at the Regional Justice Center after it was discovered the shooters planned to take over a court house and kill public officials.

The shooters were identified as Jerad and Amanda Miller, a married couple who moved to Las Vegas a few months ago and briefly joined the militiamen at the Cliven Bundy Ranch. Sheriff Doug Gillespie says his agency continues to mourn the loss of their fallen officers. Officer Alyn Beck started with the department in 2001 and is survived by a wife and three children. Officer Igor Soldo joined the department in 2006 and is survived by a wife and baby.
