Henderson City Council Sets Rules For Medical Marijuana

Earlier this year, members of the Henderson City Council unanimously voted to pass on medical marijuana dispensaries for at least six months. Now they have decided to reverse course and set rulesfor the five dispensaries that could call Henderson home. But unlike other cities and counties, they are enlisting the state to help make decisions about how should own and operate the city's medical marijuana dispensaries. And they are hoping that will help reduce the appearance of favoritism.

But can influence and politics ever be completely removed from the licensing process? And how can the community balance the medical marijuana industry with its family-friendly reputation?
