FBI Targets Lasers

The FBI is searching for those who aim lasers at aircraft. The bureau announced Tuesday a 90-day national campaign with a reward of $10,000 for information leading to the arrest of anyone targeting aircraft with lasers.

Since 2005, FBI officials say the number of people targeting crafts increased by 1,100 percent. Aiming lasers at a plane is a federal offense. A federal grand jury earlier this year indicted Henderson resident James David Zipf for allegedly aiming a laser pointer at a Metro Police Helicopter six times this year.
