Drinking Alcohol From A Bottle On Fremont Will Now Come At A Cost

Drinking alcohol from cans or a bottle in downtown Las Vegas can now cost hundreds of dollars. The Las Vegas city council voted unanimously Wednesday to ban consumption of alcohol from the original containers within a five-block area of the Fremont Street Experience. There was already a ban in place that stated no drinking of alcohol from its original containers within a 1,000 feet of the store it was purchased. Those who violate the new ban can face fines of $250 for the first offense and $500 for the second.

Liquor store owners on Fremont have complained about the crackdown. One store is suing the city.
