The bus stop on Spring Mountain Road, site of a horrific traffic accident in 2012, is becoming a safer spot. Yesterday the Regional Transportation Commission announced the installation of a bus shelter 10 feet further back from the street.
Two years ago, Gary Lee Hosey Jr. was speeding when he slammed into the stop and killed four people. Hosey pleaded guilty to charges of DUI and was sentenced to 24 to 80 years in prison. The land and the shelter were donated by a private donor.
