Officials Say Lake Mead Does Present Danger

Lake Mead officials are reminding visitors to take every precaution possible. On Sunday park rangers experienced a busier than normal day after responding to numerous calls including a car accident, near drownings and medical emergencies.

In all one person died and 15 others were rescued. Officials are asking visitors to use life jackets when swimming, know basic boating safety, check the weather before going out, and avoid hiking between June and September due to excessive heat.
