New Mining Near Elko

There will be a new gold mine opening near Elko. On Friday, the Bureau of Land Management announced approval of the Arturo Mine Project – a Barrick-Dee Mining Venture. The plans are for an open-pit gold mine that currently is closed and undergoing reclamation. The project will impact more than 2,700 acres of public land over a ten-year period.
