Metro Receives Praise From The Feds

As police shootings in Las Vegas have dropped, reforms at Metro are drawing praise from the U.S. Department of Justice.

A new report from DOJ’s Office of Community Oriented Policing is the final one after a wide-ranging, multi-year study of Metro’s deadly force policies. Metro has implemented 72 of the 80 reforms the feds have suggested since the first study in November 2012, with five more underway. The number of police shootings has dropped from a record 25 in 2010 to 24 in 2012 and 2013 combined.
