Henderson Plant Given Record Fine

A Henderson processing plant is being fined millions for improperly disposing of a dangerous chemical. The Environmental Protection Agency announced a record $13.75 million fine for Henderson plant Titanium Metals Corp. It's the largest imposed for violations of the Toxic Substances Control Act.

The fine centers on one specific chemical labeled as a probable carcinogen that has been banned in the US for 30 years. The plant is located at Black Mountain Industrial Complex near U.S. 95 and Lake Mead Parkway.
