Driverless cars may seem like a futuristic dream. But Google is already operating them and some manufacturers are promising that they will be in showrooms by 2020. Nevada legislated to allow roads to be used for test-driving and the driverless cars have been stars at the recent Consumer Electronics Show. But how will the cars change our lives? How will they change the landscape? And what are the unexpected philosophical and ethical issues that driverless cars raise?
