Dozens Of CCSD Teachers Won't Return

One hundred Clark County school district employees, mostly teachers, will not be returning to the classroom next year. Last week, the school district decided not to renew their contracts for poor performance. This is the effect of recent Nevada laws that now link a teacher’s employment to performance instead of seniority. On average about 22 teachers are let go each year.

CCSD is hiring an extra 2000 teachers for the new school year.
