BLM Investigating ATV Riders

U.S. Bureau of Land Management officials are looking to press charges against a group of ATV riders who recently rode through off-limit trails as a protest against the federal agency. BLM officials say about 50 people rode their all-terrain vehicles into Recapture Canyon in Utah, an area that is home to dwellings, artifacts and ancient burials.

The riders held the protest because they believed they had as much access to the area as hikers and horseback riders. Undercover BLM officials recorded the protest of riders and are gathering information on who was there to begin prosecutions. There was a law put in place in 2007 after officials found an illegal trail that cut through the ruins.
