Las Vegas hospital emergency rooms are freezing out ambulances because they are choked with mental patients unable to get a spot in local psychatric hospitals. And they tie up beds for days at a time. That is seriously cutting the ER services available to people with a real medical emergency. So what can be done in the short-term? Are there other solutions than warehousing people in emergency beds?
