Culinary Union members will take a strike vote next week as they prepare some 10,000 workers for the worst-case scenario if negotiations with 15 casinos fail to produce new labor contracts. But will it really come to a strike? Considering the Culinary’s steady diet of warnings and protests, it seems unlikely a major job action is in the works. Nonetheless, the Culinary is moving forward with vote on March 20 - a majority approval will allow it to call a strike against any – or all – casinos involved.
