Even as NDOT moves to widen I-15 to make room for more cars, there's an effort to make cars less necessary in downtown Las Vegas. Project 100 would give customers options from electric vehicles, to shuttle services, to bike sharing. (Project 100 is funded by Zappos CEO Tony Hseih and the Downtown Project.) The company begins piloting its car and bike-sharing project next spring, and has made headlines by including dozens of Model-S electic sedans made by Teslas in its fleet.
So would you leave behind your car, and buy into Project 100 if you could? We talk about the challenges of pulling off this idea in a city full of suburbs.
