Going After Big Pharma

State Senator Tick Segerblom wants a list of bad doctors to be made public. Segerblom requested a database compiled by PurduePharma. The list contains the names of more than 1800 doctors that the company suspects dangerously prescribe OxyContin. Segerblom believes the pharmaceutical company has an ethical duty to make that information public. According to the Center For Disease Control, Nevada was tied for second among states in the amount of prescription painkillers sold per 10-thousand people. In 2008, Nevada had the third-highest prescription drug overdose deaths.
