For years now, Nevadans have been able to adopt desert tortoises as pets through the Nevada Department of Wildlife. They still can, but a new rule is in place -- you can only have one tortoise. It seems many tortoise owners don't want their pets, and the state can't take them all back. What are the benefits and challenges of owning a desert tortoise?
